Device bias is typically accomplished by connecting the output of a power supply or source meter to exposed leads or pins of package devices or circuit boards, or by landing probes on bare semiconductor devices or circuit boards. A number of Keithley instruments can be directly controlled by Thermalyze software during LIP tests to cycle bias on and off. This fixture enables probing one side of a circuit board and imaging the opposite side. Mount the board with the spring-loaded clamps, make probe connections with the XYZ probe positioners, then flip the fixture to image the back side. Probe contacts are maintained at all times and can be adjusted by flipping the fixture right-side-up.
