Description

Test lead capacitance can interfere with the ability for a source meter or power supply to accurately measure voltage and current, especially at higher frequencies or when measuring small currents.

Methods to reduce the capacitance of test leads:

  • Reduce test lead length
  • Decrease wire diameter
  • Increase insulation thickness
  • Lower insulation dielectric constant
  • Increase wire separation distance
