Can the IS640-17 5µm lens be used for accurate temperature measurements?
This question has been flagged
The IS640-17 10µm, 20µm, 40µm, 80µm, and Macro lenses are fully radiometric (measure temperature accurately) with accuracy better than +/- 2°C or 2% (whichever is higher). We also calibrate our 5µm lens, however, due to its large size and low numerical aperture, lens thermal gradients can result in measurement inaccuracy of more than 10°C.
The 5µm lens It is used primarily for semiconductor failure analysis in lock-in thermography tests where absolute accuracy is not required, but relative measurements between pixels is important.
If relative temperature measurements (spatial or temporal) are most important for your application, then our 5µm lens may fulfill your requirements.
