After functioning correctly for 2 days, a customer's PC began returning the following error messages in the dialogue box when trying to open Thermalyze:

milAppError; Licensing error.MdispAlloc Mil requires a Matrox Imaging board or a valid license. 151 15.59.07
A Matrox Solios video board or USB license key is currently not installed and therefore Thermalyze will shut down

As well as a popup window saying:

A Matrox Solios video board or USB license key is currently not installed and therefore Thermalye will shut down.

The following steps were taken to ascertain the problem:

  • Unplugging the camera and USB dongle, then plugging them back in.
    • No change in behavior
  • Plugging in the IS640-17 Camera to a different USB port
    • This was repeated 10 times. One of these times, Thermalyze began to behave normally, but the previous errors persisted after restarting the computer. This was not able to be replicated.
  • Determined that all Ports and USB controllers in device manager were present and working normally.
  • Reinstalled all Matrox, NI, and Optotherm software.
    • No change in behavior.
  • Plugging the USB dongle into a PC that is known to work. (system 2)
    • Thermalyze was able to start and function normally on system 2.

This issue may be caused by the PC's power supply providing insufficient power. Please try the following:

  1. Unplug all USB connectors from the USB ports on the front and back of the PC.
  2. Plug in the Mouse to a USB port on the back of the PC.
  3. Plug in the USB License Dongle to a USB port on the back of the PC.
  4. Plug in the IS640-17 Camera to a USB port on the front of the PC.
  5. Attempt to launch Thermalyze and enable Image Capturing.

If the problem persists:

  1. Switch which ports the Camera and USB License Dongle are plugged in to.
