The OptoTherm
HP20 high power thermoelectric (TE) controller provides precise temperature
control of thermoelectric modules and heating/cooling stages. The HP20
operates in a bi-directional H-bridge configuration for smooth transitions
between heating and cooling cycles for high reliability.
Bi-directional control reduces the likelihood of thermal
fatigue and electrically induced failures caused by high current switching.
The HP20 features a user-friendly control panel design with pushbuttons for
increasing and decreasing the temperature setpoint and for alternating
display of the setpoint and actual temperature. Proportional,
integral, and derivative (PID) control provides rapid response to changes in
operating conditions and tight control over a wide temperature range.
By following step-by-step instructions and using plotted temperature data,
determining appropriate PID settings for fast response
has never been easier. Users also have the ability to make manual
adjustment of PID parameters for fine tuning or for unique applications.
Configuration and Graphing
Software
The HP20 PC
software provides a user-friendly interface to configure and operate the
controller via the controller's serial (RS-232) interface. Once the
controller is configured, the computer can be disconnected and operated
manually using the controller's push-button interface. When the
controller is connected to the PC, setpoint and actual temperature can be
plotted in real time, providing a temperature history that can be saved in
ASCII text format and imported into data analysis programs, such as
Microsoft Excel.
